Spotlight: CORESense
This customer increases revenue by 15%, while reducing costs with Autotask®.
COMPANY PROFILE
CORESense, founded in 2000, is a 30-person company that provides an end-to-end solution for today’s small- to mid-size retail enterprises with multi-channel sales strategies. Because CORESense has a standard product offering, which is configured for each individual customer, the company is involved with internal product development, as well as customer implementations and service. CORESense has experienced triple digit growth since its founding, reflecting the strength of its entirely web-based platform.
BUSINESS CHALLENGES
Jason Jacobs is CEO. He’s been in the software business a long time, and is a self-described “monster” when it comes to process. Jacobs recognized that every business’s ultimate growth potential is a function of how well they manage information, and CORESense was no different. CORESense needed software that could track project time and service ticket handling to ensure accurate time capture and billing. They also needed a system that would monitor non-billable projects.
THE AUTOTASK SOLUTION
Jacob’s perspective is that there are only two reasons why people buy business software: to increase revenue or to reduce costs. Autotask helps with both. It helps increase revenue because it forces people to enter in all of the time they are spending in a given day. Compared to filling out time sheets, which are done subjectively, Jacob estimates an increase of 15% in captured billable time. With Autotask, it’s easy to roll-up the time and produce bills on a more timely, regular, and accurate basis. This translates to being paid quicker and more regularly. Also, all the back-up can be easily produced for items in dispute, making it easier to collect.
Autotask helps reduce operating costs because it gives managers a real-time window into individual productivity. Jacob has a goal and expectation of how much of an employee’s time should be billable. He can easily get that information out of Autotask and determine how and where people are spending their time, and get a better sense of what projects and overhead activities really cost.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS…. CLIENT COMMENTS
Jason Jacobs, CEO of CORESense, says, “What Autotask does well for us is track time against a job, assign resources to it, and generate a bill. It’s a great package for that.”
“The only time I feed a process data is if the value of the output is significantly higher than cost of the input of the data. What I care about is that we might be missing 15% of revenue owed because our people don’t have the ability to track time against a service desk ticket or project. Autotask solves that problem by giving us an accurate picture of our overall billable rate.”
“With Autotask, you get a true read on your organization. Find people who are not productive, and get them allocated to something where they will be. Autotask is a nice window for management to see what’s going on.”
“Autotask makes it easy to bill accurately, and to produce all the back-up we need when the inevitable questions come back from our clients.”
